VP, Leasing – Houston, TX

Our client is a privately held, owner & operator of primarily community and neighborhood shopping centers in a four state territory to include Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.  The VP of Leasing will be based in Houston and will have full leasing responsibility for a very sizable portfolio with direct oversight of a large leasing team.  The VP’s main charge will be to manage and motivate the leasing team as well as make deals him/herself in order to maximize leasing performance within the region. This position rounds out the company’s regional management team which includes high level professionals in charge of the legal, property management and construction disciplines.

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record for deal making in the shopping center sector across a national, regional, and local tenant base.  He/she should have positive management experience with a seasoned leasing team and should provide strategic direction within the region by utilizing deep relationships within the commercial real estate industry.

The role requires a minimum of 7 years of real estate experience from someone with strong business acumen, excellent business judgment, and a demonstrated strategic thinking process.  The company is not considering relocation at this time.
